Nature Photographer Dan Conway

It has often been said that life is what happens to you when you have everything planned.  Dan experienced one of those life-changing episodes in 1994 when the diagnosis of a pituitary tumor and the necessary surgery to remove it left him facing a 50/50 chance of living the rest of his life without his sight.  When Dan emerged from surgery with his vision intact,  that's when "painting with light" came into his life, and took up “natural history photography” (a hobby his grandfather had introduced him to as a child).  In 2000, Dan “retired” from Conway Tile Co., Inc. to fulfill his dream of working as a full-time nature photographer.

The possibility of never seeing anything again increased Dan’s ability to see the beauties of nature in a way that most of us can’t (or don’t take the time to do).  It shows in his photographs.  They are rich in color, full of life, laced with emotion, vivid in detail, and unique in perspective.  Dan’s artistic talents, graphic design abilities, and computer skills were combined to create this web site dedicated to Agua Caliente Park (which is one of my favorite parks).  His images have been published in many local, state, and national publications.  You may visit his personal web site at www.naturalwonders.net to see a complete listing of his services, as well as his publication credits and on-line portfolio.  I hope you enjoy Dan’s photographs as much as I do!

Cactus Wren

Ring-necked Duck - Female

Vermilion Fly Catcher - Male

Although these images are ordinary subject matter, they are considered fresh material.  At Agua Caliente Park you will always be able to show your editors sparkling new images.

Dear Nature Photographers:

I wanted to take a moment and tell you a little about the photographic opportunities at Agua Caliente Park.

As nature photographers, we are always looking for excellent photographic locations so we can produce high quality images at a reasonable cost.  I have been photographing Agua Caliente Park for almost ten years now and I can probably say that this park has given me the best opportunity to capture some of my most outstanding Images.

I also like that Agua Caliente park is close to home.  This makes it more cost effective for me to visit the park sometimes twice a day.  Either shooting at sunrise or sunset the park will always be a big winner.

All for now,

Dan Conway
